Physical DescriptionTear drop shaped coffee scoop with decorative coffee leaf handle. The handle is flanked by two coffee beans where it is attached to the scoop. The exterior of the coffee measure is engraved along the bottom edge "A medida ideal para um bom café" (an ideal measure for a good cup of coffee). It is inscribed to President Kennedy along the upper edge with "Joao Goulart" engraved across center.
Historical NoteThis coffee measure was presented to President Kennedy by Joao Goulart, President of Brazil (1961-1964) during President Goulart's visit to the White House on April 3, 1962.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was a gift to President and Mrs. Kennedy from João Goulart, President of Brazil. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
