Physical DescriptionAn evening dress in ivory duchesse silk satin and ruby-beaded silk organdy bodice. The dress's short sleeved bodice is beaded with rosettes. Chez Ninon modeled this dress after the fall-winter 1961 model number 124 by Antonio Castillo the Spanish designer for Lanvin (French, established 1889).
Historical NoteFirst Lady Jacqueline Kennedy wore this dress to a dinner hosted by the Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru at the Indian Embassy in Washington D.C. on November 9, 1961. The dress was also worn to a dinner hosted by American Ambassador to India John Kenneth Galbraith at the US Embassy in New Delhi, India on March 20, 1962 and to a fund raiser celebrating the second anniversary of the Kenedy inauguration at the National Guard Armory in Washington D.C. on January 18, 1963.
