Physical DescriptionGold medal posthumously awarded to President Kennedy at the annual banquet of the Army & Navy Union in August 1964. The medal has a Army & Navy Union logo suspended from a maroon, white and blue ribbon which is attached to a bar pin of gold and navy blue enamel decorated with 4 gold stars that have centers of tiny rubies. Hanging from this bar pin is another gold bar set with 4 diamonds.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteMedal was presented to Governor Endicott Peabody (A Trustee of the John F. Kennedy Memorial Library) by General "Tink" Gleason at the annual Banquet of the Army & Navy Union held at Hotel Statler on August 7, 1964. Life Membership Medal was awarded that day posthumously to President Kennedy with the intent that the medal would be donated to the Library.
