Historical NotePresented to Jacqueline Kennedy by Prime Minister Nehru during her state visit to India March 1962 as a symbol of welcome. Mrs. Kennedy wore this necklace during her stay there.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was a gift to President and Mrs. Kennedy from Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Prime Minister of India. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
