Physical DescriptionWood chest lined with silk. Lid is painted in gold leaf with a floral motif at corners and edges. Chest contains a formal invitation written in ink on a thin piece of wood to President Kennedy for a Luncheon at Indian Embassy in Washington DC.

Custodial History NoteItem was a gift to President and Mrs. Kennedy from Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, President of India. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
