Physical DescriptionWood chest carved on lid and 4 sides in low relief with figures of deer, beaver, rabbits and flowers. Raised relief of the wood is polished to a blonde color and the background is painted red.
Historical NoteThis chest was presented to President Kennedy on March 16, 1962 by Senator from Mexico Antonio Bermedez who was accompanied by Senator Wayne Morse of Oregon.

Custodial History NoteItem was a gift from a member of the general public to the President and Mrs. Kennedy received by the Executive Office of the President betwen 1961-1963 and held by the General Service Administration until it was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
