Historical NoteThis photograph was taken in March 1963 when President John F. Kennedy made a state visit to Costa Rica to attend the Conference of Presidents of the Central American Republic. President Kennedy was one of the first United States Presidents to visit Costa Rica. During the trip he promoted his Alliance for Progress program. This photograph was displayed on wall in the White House.
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteThis item is material associated with the White House the Kennedy Administration and the Executive Offices of the President. It was either government property or was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
