Historical NoteThis Torah cover was made for 200 year old Torah scroll of religious laws that was presented to President Kennedy by Rabbi Maurice N. Eisendrath at the White House on November 13, 1961. The cover is not orginal to the Torah; it was designed and woven Hortense Amram as a presentation cover.

Custodial History NotePersonally presented to the President on November 13, 1961 during meeting with the Board of Trustees, Union of American Hebrew Congregations, at the White House. Presented to the President by Rabbi Maurice N. Eisendrath, President of the group.
