Physical DescriptionPorcelain bonbonniere (candy dish) with low relief of the city of Luxembourg on the lid. The exterior is skillfully polished to show the fine biscuit. A vertical design in relief is incorporated around the piece, which is glazed only on the interior.
Historical NoteThis bonbonniere was presented to President Kennedy by the Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg on April 30, 1963 during her state visit to the White House. The lid contains a low relief view of the City of Luxembourg. The city was founded in 963, and celebrated its millennium the year this piece was given to President Kennedy.

Custodial History NoteItem was a gift from a foreign official to the President and First Lady received through the Executive office during the Kennedy Administration and transferred to the General Service Administration where it was held until donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
