Marc Bohan

Designer, French, born 1926
Bohan studied at the Lycée Lakanal, Sceaux from 1940 – 1944. In 1945 Bohan started working in the fashion industry by taking jobs in the Parisian couture houses. During this time he worked with Piguet, Edward Molyneux, Jean Patou before eventually joining the house of Christian Dior in 1958. In 1960 the house of Dior called on Bohan to take on the role as Chief Designer and Artistic Director, where he stayed for nearly 30 years.

In 1989 Bohan left Dior and became the fashion director of Norman Hartnell in London. In 1992 Marc Bohan started designing under his own name.
