Attended Harvard University and Columbia University Law School. In March of 1905 FRD married Eleanor Roosevelt. In 1910 FDR won election to the New York State Senate. He was later appointed Assistant Secretary of the United States Navy by President Wilson. In 1920, FDR was the Democratic Nominee for Vice President. In 1928 FDR was elected Governor of New York State. FDR was elected President in 1932 and would be elected to four terms. He died in office, after leading the country through the Great Depression and WWII.
