Charles Schulz was an American cartoonist and creator of the comic strip Peanuts (which featured the characters Charlie Brown and Snoopy, among others). The Peanuts cartoon first appeared on October 2, 1950. The cartoon ran for nearly 50 years without interruption. It was published in more than 2,600 newspapers in 75 different countries.
