Walt Ditzen was a comic artist and cartoonist from Phoenix. Between 1947 and 1973, Ditzen covered all sports with his nationally syndicated 'Fan Fare' strip, which appeared in more than 200 newspapers in the United States. Ditzen has also done sports cartoons for newspapers and filler features for Holyoke Publications. He was well-known in the bowling world for his posters for the National Bowling Council and his illustrations for Brunswick Personal Bowling Score Cards. Jerry Dumas assisted on Ditzen's 'Fan Fare' during the early 1950s.
