Physical DescriptionFemale doll with molded plastic body wearing a white cotton skirt and square neck blouse adorned with embroidery in bands of red, white, and green. She wears a white sheer head shawl with lace points. Costume is associated with the fiestas of "La Vainilla" and "El Xamat" in Totonaca, Mexico
Historical NoteThis doll was presented to First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy by the First Lady of Mexico, Eva Samano de Lopez Mateos with a group of 17 other dolls representing different costumes from other areas in Mexico.

Custodial History NoteItem was a gift to First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in 1961 from the First Lady of Mexico. It was held by the General Service Administration until it was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in 1965.
