Physical DescriptionBronze medallion---Dutch Peace Corps. The medallion was struck by N.V. Koninkklijke Begeer of Voorschoten, Netherlands, and designed by Pol Dom. Patterned after the U.S. Peace Corps founded by John F. Kennedy, the obverse is inscribed "John F. Kennedy 1963/ A noble servant of peace" reverse "A man does what he must".
Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteItem was a gift from a member of the general public to Jacqueline Kennedy received after the death of President Kennedy in 1963. It was held by the General Service Administration until it was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
