Physical DescriptionCardstock with fabric sample from the Red Room of the White House for the Parish - Hadley re-decoration project of the White House residence and state rooms.
Handwritten in black ink at the top of the page is The Red Room. A large silk fabric swatch copied and woven by Scalamandre with a gold snowflake in center is adherred to the page with staples. The fabric was used for the four chairs, Nellie Curtis sofa and pillows in the Red Room.

Walls are plain special red satin with a 6 inch brocaded border. Furniture: three arm chairs upohostered in silk special snowflake and flower urn seats and backs. Dolly Madison sofa in special sofa medallion with border around the seat cushion, Nellie Custis sofa in special small gold on red medallion, four small side chairs in small gold and red silk fabric as the sofa, two cushions made with seat and back medallions with tassels at each corner.
