Physical DescriptionCartoon drawing "JFK", with spade and hatchet in hand, hides behind a tree, and waits for the approaching GOP Elephant to walk down the trail and fall into his trap, "Weaver Cabinet Appointment". Caption reads: "Elephant Trap".
Historical NoteIn 1960 President John F. Kennedy appointed Robert C. Weaver to head the federal Housing and Home Finance Agency. In 1966 Weaver was the first African American appointed to a cabinet position in the U.S. government.

Custodial History NoteItem was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy. It was held by the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library Archives until it was transferred to the Museum Collection in 2024.
