Physical DescriptionOriginal black and white cartoon drawing. John F. Kennedy dressed as a Frontiersmen is driving a wagon uphill with "Legislative Program" dragging his exaggerated feet out the back of the wagon. A sign on the road indicates "Congress Halfway Mark". Caption reads: Somebody is Dragging His Feet".
Historical NoteThis political cartoon references the slow legislative process and a half way point in which Congress has reached an agreement to pass laws and policy. Ferman Martin uses irony to show that this struggle is an "uphill battle" with disagreements in Congress preventing the process from moving forward.
