Physical DescriptionA white wool sleeveless knee length dress with a black ribbon band around the waist, collar and hem.
Historical NoteFirst Lady Jacqueline Kennedy wore this dress at the opening of the redecorated Treaty Room of the White House on June 28, 1962.

The Treaty Room is located on the Second Floor of the White House and has been used as the president’s private study where the commander-in-chief can analyze reports, hold private meetings, edit speeches, and host family gatherings. In this Treaty room President Kennedy signed the Limited Nuclear Test Ban Treaty between the United States and the Soviet Union in 1963.

Custodial History NoteItem is from the personal collection of President and Mrs. Kennedy. It was donated to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum by the Estate of President John F. Kennedy in 1965.
